India Makes History with First-Ever Shooting Gold at Asian Games
India's shooters Divyansh Singh Panwar, Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar and Rudrankksh Patil created history on Day 2 of the Asian Games 2023 by winning the country's first gold medal in the men's 10m Air Rifle team event and smashing the world record.
The trio shot a combined score of 1893.7, bettering the previous world record of 1893.3 set by China at the World Championships in Baku earlier this year.
Panwar, Tomar and Patil were in scintillating form throughout the competition, topping the qualification round with a combined score of 1890.1.
They carried their momentum into the final, where they outshot South Korea and China to claim the gold medal.
This is a historic achievement for Indian shooting, and it is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the shooters and their coaches.
Congratulations to Divyansh Singh Panwar, Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar and Rudrankksh Patil on their incredible achievement!
