Uttarkashi Tunnel Collapse Survivors to Receive Care at Community Health Center

On November 12, 2023, a portion of the under-construction tunnel on Uttarakhand's Char Dham route collapsed following a landslide, trapping 41 workers inside.
The 41 workers who were trapped in a collapsed tunnel in Uttarakhand, India, have been rescued and are being brought to community health care centers for evaluation and treatment.
The workers were trapped in the tunnel for over two weeks after a portion of the tunnel collapsed.
The rescue operation was a major undertaking, involving hundreds of personnel from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF).
The 41 workers have been trapped since and rescue operation is ongoing.
Indian Army has also been called in to undertake manual horizontal drilling.
A team of doctors and a hospital with 41 beds has been kept on standby to make sure that the mission is not hampered by any medical emergency.
