Ingredients
For the Gulab Jamun
1 cup of milk powder
1/4 cup of all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp of baking soda
A pinch of cardamom powder
2 tbsp of ghee (clarified butter)
Approximately 1/3 cup of milk
Oil or ghee for deep frying
For the Sugar Syrup
1.5 cups of sugar
1.5 cups of water
A few cardamom pods
Prepare the sugar syrup by boiling sugar, water, and cardamom pods until it slightly thickens. Set aside
Mix milk powder, all-purpose flour, baking soda, and cardamom powder. Add ghee and milk to form a soft dough. Rest for 10-15 mins.
Shape the dough into smooth, crack-free balls and fry them until golden brown.
Soak the fried jamuns in the warm sugar syrup for at least 2-3 hours.
