Ingredients
2 cups -allpurpose flour
2 teaspoons- baking powder
1/2 teaspoon- salt
1 1/2 cups - sugar
1/2 cup -butter
2 -eggs
1 teaspoon- vanilla extract
1 cup -milk
Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
In a medium bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
n a large bowl, cream the sugar and butter together until light and fluffy. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk and beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans and smooth the tops
Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cakes comes out clean.
Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then remove from the pans and transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
