Crispy Creations: Crafting Homemade Potato Chips from Scratch
Ingredients
2 large potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced 1 cup vegetable oil 1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon chili powder 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
1/4 teaspoon coriander powder 1/4 teaspoon garam masala powder
Instructions
Slice the potatoes into very thin slices. You can use a mandoline slicer or a sharp knife.
Place the potato slices in a bowl of cold water for 30 minutes. This will help to remove some of the starch from the potatoes and make them crispier.
Drain the potato slices and pat them dry with a paper towel. In a separate bowl, combine the vegetable oil, salt, chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, and garam masala powder.
Toss the potato slices in the oil mixture until they are evenly coated. Heat a large skillet or frying pan over medium heat.
Add the potato slices to the skillet in a single layer. Fry the potato slices for 2-3 minutes per side, or until they are golden brown and crispy.
Remove the potato chips from the skillet and drain them on a paper towel-lined plate. Season with additional salt, chili powder, and other spices to taste.
