Vinayagar Chaturthi Kollukattai Recipe

Ingredients

Rice flour - 1 cup
Jaggery - 1 cup
Ghee - 1/2 cup
Cardamom powder - 1/2 teaspoon
Salt - a pinch
Oil - for frying

Instructions

In a bowl, combine rice flour and salt. Mix well. In a pan, melt jaggery over low heat. Add ghee to the melted jaggery and stir.

Cook the jaggery until it thickens. Add cardamom powder to the thickened jaggery and mix well.

Divide the dough into small balls. Place a ball of dough in a mold, add the filling in the center, and close the mold.

Steamed to perfection to attain the glossy finish.

Tips

Do not add too much water while kneading the dough. The dough should be firm for the kollukattai to turn out well.
